FUMCP’s Community Garden
The 2026 season is about to begin. (Actually, it already has for those of you who like rhubarb.) We’ll kick off with our planning meeting on Friday, May 1st here at the church. Decisions will be made regarding crops to grow, planting schedules, task assignments, etc. This is the one chance all year that the whole group has to meet face-to-face, so if you’ve been a regular team member or would like to get involved now in helping to feed our neighbors in need, please join us at 6:30 PM Friday. All are welcome and no gardening experience is necessary.
Dessert will be served. Questions? See/call Brian Huff @ 224-828-8802
FUMCP Mission Statement
We are a historic and communal church that is dedicated to life-changing faith, building Christian community, and serving our neighborhood. Because of this commitment, all are included at our table: all ages, all races, all genders and gender identities, all sexual orientations, all socioeconomic statuses, all nationalities, all ethnicities, all citizenships, and all ability levels. We specifically welcome fully those who are lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, and questioning into our church community.
A New Vision for The United Methodist Church
Love Boldly: We passionately love God and, like Jesus, embrace and include people of every age, nation, race, gender, and walk of life. (Matthew 22:37-39 | John 13:34-35)

Serve Joyfully: With the heart of Christ, we journey alongside the most vulnerable among us, offering care and compassion with joy. (Psalm 100:1 | Nehemiah 8:10 | John 13:14-15 | 1 Peter 4:10)

Lead Courageously: Following Jesus’ example, we resist and dismantle all systems of evil, injustice, and oppression, striving for peace, justice, and reconciliation. (Joshua 1:9 | Ephesians 6:10)
